Watch: Crazy Scenes as Bengaluru Erupts in Joy, Fans Burst Crackers After RCB Complete Stunning Turnaround to Enter IPL Playoffs
Fans took to the streets in Bengaluru to celebrate RCB's memorable win over CSK which punched their ticket to the IPL 2024 playoffs.

Bengaluru erupted in joy as fans rushed to the streets after Royal Challengers Bengaluru pulled off a thrilling win to knock out title holders Chennai Super Kings and sneak into IPL 2024 playoffs on Saturday night.

Right from the venue, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, fans lined up the streets to celebrate RCB beating CSK by 27 runs to seal a top-four spot. The result culminated a stunning turnaround for the franchise that looked down and out at one stage of the season with little hopes of making it past the league phase.

As the RCB team bus exited the venue around 1:30 AM IST, the exit road was brimming with fans who cheered the players as they made their way to the hotel.

Not too far from the venue, fans were seen bursting crackers on the street accompanied by the chants of ‘RCB, RCB’.

RCB had to beat CSK by a significant margin to ensure their qualification. Rain was forecast for the contest and it did make an appearance briefly after the match had gotten underway with RCB batting first.

However, the interruption lasted a few minutes as RCB resumed their innings. Captain Faf du Plessis led the way with a quick fifty and Virat Kohli produced another impactful innings – 47 off 29.

Their middle-order also stepped up with useful contributions from Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik propelling them to 218/5 from 20 overs.

And then Maxwell got rid of CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad off the very first delivery before Yash Dayal accounted for Daryl Mitchell to dent the defending champions early in the chase.

Rachin Ravindra struck a brisk half-century to revive the chase and later on, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni threatened to end RCB’s hopes.

With the target now a distant memory, CSK were now hoping to reach 201 that would have ensured their net run-rate stays above that of RCB despite the defeat. However, they were kept to 191/7.
