Hinting at ruling out an alliance with the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Yadav cleared the air on Friday saying that its time for RJD to go it alone in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
"It is time for us for prepare for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls," Lalu Yadav said.
On being asked about the BJP-LJP tie up, he further added that LJP has already moved away and RJD's own MLAs are now parting away from the party.
Noteworthy, RJD supremo has been noted praising Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and therefore attacking Congress arch-rival BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at several occasions.
In the past, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief also said that he will form an alliance with the Congress and the Lok Janshakti Party of Ram Vilas Paswan "to stop communal forces". "Just wait and watch," he said.
"I cannot be a part of the Third Front. Every member of the Third Front wants to be Prime Minister. I also want to be PM. My dream is not yet shattered. I will ally with the Congress to stop the communal forces. My aim is to stop (Narendra) Modi and (Arvind) Kejriwal at any cost," he said.
The RJD was a key ally of the Congress-led UPA government during its first term from 2004 to 2009 and is now providing outside support during its second term.
