MADIKERI: The suspension of two teachers working at Thithimathi Government High School has been ordered by Kodagu ZP president S B Ravi Kushalappa.Kushalappa instructed the DDPI to suspend Jayanna and Shareef as they were facing allegations of sexual harassment.At a KDP meeting here on Thursday, standing committee chairman for education and health K Kanthi Belliappa brought the issue to the notice of the president.She produced letters she had received from a few parents and students who had alleged that these teachers were involved in sexual harassment. Teachers are said to be the eyes of the society, but such teachers are spoiling the profession. These two should be punished, she demanded.Kushalappa instructed the BEO’s of the three taluks to visit schools in their area and keep a strict vigil on such incidents as he had received various complaints. He also directed medical officers to visit all hospitals and check for sexual harassment.The president instructed the Agriculture Department joint director C K Devadas to vacate the department building for students of Morarji School who, were taking lessons under trees at Kudige.
