Across the country, preparations and celebrations for the days of Navratri are being carried out with great zeal by the devotees. These auspicious celebrations also featured some of our favourite stars engaging in Ramleela plays to entertain the audience with their talent. It includes the popular Bhojpuri actor-politician Manoj Tiwari, who recently participated in a famous Ramlila, in Delhi.

According to the reports, Manoj Tiwari took part in the Luv Kush Ramlila, which is considered Delhi’s most popular Ramlila play. Organized by the Luv Kush Ramlila Committee, the play is taking place at the Red Fort grounds from October 3. The actor was seen in the role of Parshuram in the play, added the reports.

A video of the actor is making rounds on the internet, where he is readying for his role, getting the makeup perfected for his character. It captures the actor sitting patiently in an orange-hued garb, as the makeup artists cleanse his face. The clip’s highlight is the actor’s fake beard and long hair, which makes him the perfect live-action Parshuram. As he gets prepped, the actor engages in some conversation with the artists. He asked, “Achchi lag rahi hai? (It looks good?),” referring to the beard. The other man then replies, “Choti si rakhenge set karke toh achchi lagegi sir (If you keep a small beard after setting it, it will look good, sir).” The makeup artist then proceeds to apply more foundation to his face.

As per more reports, politician Vijender Gupta was going to portray King Janak and former MLA Vijay Jolly was to portray Rishi Vashishth. The character of Kumbhkaran was performed by Jathedar Avatar Singh and AAP leader Brijesh Goyal was Meghnad. Himanshu Soni was roped in to play Ram, with Samiksha Bhatnagar and Ketan Karande portraying Sita and Hanuman, respectively.

According to the president of the Luv Kush Ramlila Committee, Arjun Kumar, the budget for the performance was approximately set at Rs 4 crore to Rs 5 crore.
