CUTTACK: The Orissa High Court has directed the Superintendent of the SCB Medical College and Hospital and the CDMO of Puri to file status reports on the progress in treatment of the yet to be identified person. The person in question was recently found suffering from serious burn injuries, which had got infected due to lack of treatment. Treating a letter petition filed by an advocate DN Lenka of Cuttack as PIL, a division bench of Chief Justice V Gopalagowda and Justice BN Mohapatra directed the CDMO of Puri to provide proper medical treatment to the patient. The Puri CDMO, on Monday, filed status report stating that the patient had been shifted to the SCBMCH. The SCB superintendent also filed a status report stating therein that the patient is being provided with necessary care and treatment. Considering the same, the court has directed to file further status report by next week. It may be mentioned here that the patient was brought to a Puri hospital by a woman and left there during the first week of February. The patient was given treatment but he fled the hospital after a few days without intimation. The matter was reported to police following which he was traced and brought back. It was further stated that the patient also needed psychiatric treatment as he is unable to disclose anything about himself. For that he has been shifted to the SCB-MCH.
