Manjrekar talked about KL Rahul’s captaincy, he said,” I’ve seen him leading India before. He’s somebody who looks very comfortable. I don’t think there is any concern regarding him being willing to step in if the first-choice or second-choice captain is not available.”

India did not have the usual suspects in their ODI squad with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah missing out on the 50-over series against South Africa. But the trio are set to take part in the two-match Test series which begins with the Boxing Day Test at the SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium, in Centurion.
Manjrekar was impressed with his brief stint in South Africa and went on to praise Rahul, he said, “He has experience with leadership. He is one of those intelligent cricketers. So he will make all the right moves, plus behind the stumps when it comes to reviews, I don’t think there is anybody better than KL Rahul.”
He also added,” The kind of young players that were in the side, the way he used them, the team selection, I was impressed by him in his captaincy and leadership.”
