Team India began the five-match Test series against visiting England on a positive note at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday.
A highlight moment on Day 1 of the opening Test of the tour was the dismissal of experienced English batsman Jonny Bairstow off Axar Patel’s delivery.
The batter was settling in well at the crease as he had made 37 runs to stabilise the English innings after the tourists lost three wickets in quick succession.
Indian all-rounder Axar Patel came up with a peach of a delivery to get rid of the dangerous Bairstow as he broke through the Englishman’s defences to strike timber.

English skipper Ben Stokes won the coin toss ahead of the game and decided to have a bat first. The visitors had a good start to the game as openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett put up a 55-run partnership for the opening wicket as they saw out the Indian pace attack.
But, the Indians got their breakthrough thanks to their trusty spinners as veteran bowler Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Duckett after the opener had put up 35 runs off his willow.
Ravindra Jadeja, bowling from the other end helped Ashwin out as he scalped Ollie Pope before the right-hand spinner from Tamil Nadu struck again to get rid of Crawley.
Joe Root and Bairstow looked to steady the English innings before Axar came up with the turner that sent Bairstow back to the dugout.
Root was next to go as Jadeja scaped the veteran batsman thanks to Jasprit Bumrah hanging on to a catching opportunity provided to him by the Englishman.
Axar piled on the English misery further as he produced another brilliant ball to scalp Ben Foakes as S Bharath caught him behind the wickets.
