'A Local Sports Store of One of His School-mates': Adam Gilchrist Reacts to MS Dhoni's New Bat Sticker Ahead of IPL 2024

As the former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni is preparing himself to lead the Chennai Super Kings franchise once again, photos of him in the nets went viral as the World Cup-winning captain put up a new bat sticker.

The former Australian wicket-keeper, Adam Gilchrist also pointed out an interesting point during the second T20I between Australia and the West Indies at the Adelaide Oval.

Hussey who was also in the commentary box appreciated the tournament and revealed his plans ahead of the start of the IPL. He said,” Got to reach India 10 days before the tournament starts. March, maybe 11th of March we are heading off. Looking forward to it. Great tournament, really is. The best players playing… it is incredible. The crowds are unbelievable, the noise they make. The atmosphere in the ground and MS Dhoni is back. He’s hitting balls in the nets already I reckon.

Gilchrist confirmed the news regarding Dhoni being back in training. He said, “I saw him hitting some balls in the nets, MS Dhoni. There’s a new bat sticker on his bat.

Dhoni was seen sporting a sticker which read ‘Prime Sports’ when practising his batting in a nets session ahead of the IPL 2024 season. To add some context, Prime Sports is also a sports company that is owned by Paramjit Singh, a childhood friend of the CSK skipper.

The former Australian wicket-keeper added,” Just a local sports store of one of his school-mates. Whack the company name on your bat to give a boost to sales”

MS Dhoni had played through the 2023 edition of the IPL with an injured knee for which he had to undergo surgery after winning the tournament. Despite the uncertainty regarding his availability, the CSK franchise retained the star captain ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions. Now the captain is preparing himself to lead the side once again as the franchise looks to defend the title.
