Houdini is the first single track from Eminem's upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady.

Popular American rapper and songwriter Eminem has made a comeback with his new song Houdini. Released on Friday, May 23, this track is the first single from his upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady. The song takes the rapper’s fans back to the early 2000s, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Known for his sharp lyrics and playful jabs, Eminem, 51, doesn’t hold back in this track. According to People, in the first verse, he mentions Megan Thee Stallion, rapping, “If I was to ask for Megan Thee/Stallion if she would collab with me/Would I really have a shot at a feat/I don’t know but I’m glad to be back."

This line seems to remind listeners of a 2020 incident where Megan was shot in the feet by Tory Lanez. He reportedly received a 10-year prison sentence for it.

Further, Eminem’s song lyrics say, “They can screw-off, them and you all, you too Paul, got two balls, big as RuPaul’s, what you thought you saw ain’t what you saw."

Alongside the song, Eminem has also created a music video filled with references to his earlier work, in particular, his Without Me video from 2002. According to the video, he gets a call from Dr. Dre about a portal to 2002 opening in the city, resulting in his younger self arriving in 2024.

The video uses some special visuals to show both the present and younger Eminem together. He even dons a superhero costume from the old video, as he raps, “Abra-abracadabra (And for my last trick)/I’m ’bout to reach in my bag, bruh (Like)/Abra-abracadabra (And for my last trick, poof)/Just like that and I’m back, bro."

The video also features appearances from 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, comedian Shane Gillis, Pete Davidson, and Eminem’s children, Hailie Jade, 28, Alaina, 31 and Stevie, 22.

Prior to the full release of the song, Eminem had also shared a teaser video with magician David Blaine. In this video, Eminem asks Blaine, “What I was wondering is like, how far can we go with this magic? Like, can we do like a stunt or something?" Blaine responds, “Well for my last trick, I’m gonna make my career disappear," reports People.

Eminem’s latest album, titled The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), will focus on the end of his longtime alter ego, Slim Shady. This character has been a part of his music since the 1997 Slim Shady EP, which was also followed by the Slim Shady LP in 1999. Earlier in the month, reportedly, a fake obituary for Slim Shady had also been published in the Detroit Free Press, the newspaper of Eminem’s hometown, adding to the buzz around the album.
