Preity Mukhundhan To Make Her Malayalam Debut With Maine Pyar Kiya

The makers of Maine Pyar Kiya announced her addition to the cast and released a poster featuring the actress.

Tamil actress Preity Mukhundhan, who is best known for her role in the recently released film Star starring Kavin and most notably for her appearance in the very popular Tamil music video Aasa Kooda, will soon make her debut in Malayalam with the film Maine Pyar Kiya. The makers of the film announced her addition to the cast and released a poster featuring the Tamil actress.

The film, which is touted to be a romantic comedy with suspense elements, will be directed by debutant Faizal Faziludeen, who has co-written the screenplay with Blk Fzl. It will be bankrolled by Sanju Unnithan’s Spire Productions, who recently took to social media to announce the film and its title Maine Pyar Kiya.

Maine Pyar Kiya has cinematography by Don Paul P, editing by Kannan Mohan, music by Ajmal Hasbulla and sound design by Renganaath Ravee. Details about the rest of the cast have not been revealed by the makers yet and more announcements are expected when the film hits the theatres soon.

Preity Mukhundhan also has a Telugu film titled Kannappa in the pipeline, which is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. The upcoming Telugu film is written by Vishnu Manchu in the lead role and has guest appearances by popular stars like Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal.

Preity Mukhundhan, born in Trichy, is a rising star who rose to overnight fame with her moves in the song Asa Kooda. The song became a viral sensation and so did the actress. Her journey in the entertainment industry began when she moved to Chennai to utilise her skills and talent in acting. This decision soon bore fruit when she debuted with the music video Muttu Mu2, which also stars Teejay Arunasalam, Yogi B, Sivaangi Krish and Vijay TV Pugazh.

Preity’ also acted in the Tamil film Star, directed by Elan and starring Kavin and Aaditi Pohankar. However, it was her video Aasa Kooda that made her a star on social media. Her follower count on Instagram went from around 100,000 to a staggering 741,000. Being a trained dancer, Preity’s moves surely impressed the audience.
