The deadliest creature to claim the most number of Human lives is mosquitoes. According to reports, mosquitoes take the lives of more than 7 lakh people each year. It is known that more than 3000 species of mosquitoes exist across the globe. Female mosquitoes can spread various severe diseases that are fatal to a human being. The diseases that are spread by mosquitoes are malaria, dengue fever, chikungunya, encephalitis, elephantiasis, yellow fever, West Nile virus, and Zika virus. Humans get infected by these severe diseases after the mosquitoes bite them.

According to a report by the World Health Organisation (WHO) more than half of the current world population is at risk of getting infected by these diseases. The report further stated that most of the mosquito-related health issues are reported from African countries. Those countries report the most number of deaths due to mosquito-transmitted diseases. Around 95 per cent of such patients are reported from Africa only while around 96 per cent of worldwide deaths due to mosquito-transmitted diseases are reported from the same region.

To prevent the spread of such diseases a person should regularly use mosquito repellent, ensure there is no stagnant water around the house, and regularly use insecticides. It is very important to ensure these steps to avoid dangerous diseases.
