The Academy Museum Gala, one of Hollywood’s most glamorous annual events, took place on October 19 at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. As anticipated, the fashion elite brought their iconic moments to the red carpet, with Kylie Jenner being one of the standout A-listers. Her bold fashion choice for the evening has become a major talking point in the world of haute couture.
With a touch of avant-garde, Kylie appeared at the event with Kendall Jenner, her elder sister. She made her entrance in a Mugler Spring/Summer 1998 couture gown.
Kylie Jenner’s gown for the Academy Museum Gala was a striking selection from the Thierry Mugler fashion house, known for its iconic vintage pieces. The upper portion of the dress featured wide-cut sheer sequins in a skin-toned fishnet pattern, clinging to her body like a second skin. The shimmering material transitioned into a stunning, floor-length black skirt. Adding a bold touch, the gown also had thong cutouts at the hip, referencing the signature ‘whale tail’ trend from the 90s.
However, it seems Kylie’s act of turning heads on the red carpet with her choice of attire did not impress the internet fashion community.

Kim Kardashian also attended the event as well.
She wore a vintage Mugler outfit with a white corset, matching jacket and Tiffany & Co. necklace, rings and earrings.
