Zoom was a hit back during the pandemic but its impact has lessened over the past few years. But this week, the platform has ended support for select iPhone models that are running on specific iOS versions.
The news was shared with an update from the platform for iPhone users which has requested people using the non-supported iOS versions to upgrade their software or move to another iPhone model to continue using Zoom on their device with the latest security update and standards.
Zoom has confirmed that iOS 11 and iOS 12 versions will not support the video conferencing app from March onwards. Zoom says people can enjoy using the platform as long as their iPhone has iOS 13 version or higher, which means some of the latest security features might not be compatible with the older iOS versions.
These two iOS versions are more than 5 years old now, and even Apple has stopped offering updates for these versions, so it is understandable that Zoom is also cutting support for iPhones running on these iOS versions. So, if any of you are somehow still using their iPhones with version 11 or 12, we highly recommend that you upgrade the version right away so that Zoom will work on your device after the March 2024 update that comes in the next few days.
