New Delhi: On the 70th anniversary of Spain’s popular tomato-throwing La Tomatina festival, Google’s Street View car became an accidental participant and got pelted with tomatoes.
The biggest food fight sees more than 30,000 people worldwide where people shower each other with tomatoes purely for fun. But this year, the guest of honour was Google’s Street View car that accidentally drove through the heat of action.
A report on Tech Times notes that recording the aftermath of La Tomatina was part of Google’s plans, but due to a scheduling error, the car ended up becoming part of the tomato-throwing frenzy.

The idea was to collect snapshots before and after the festival, but the car sustained rough dents and other damages during the vandalism. Sadly, the camera too was damaged and the intention of making La Tomatina “reach more than one billion users of Google Maps worldwide” turned red.
