Sultanpur: BJP General Secretary Varun Gandhi filed his nomination for Lok Sabha elections from Sultanpur on Tuesday after holding a massive roadshow in the area.
Varun Gandhi, the son of Sanjay and Maneka Gandhi, travelled in an open jeep just like his cousin Rahul Gandhi in neighbouring Amethi where he received a warm welcome from people who showered flower petals and raised slogans in his favour.
Varun, who represented Pilibhit parliamentary constituency in 2009, has shifted to Sultanpur this time. The Congress candidate against him in Sultanpur is Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh's wife Amita Singh.
