UP polls: Team Anna asks voters to favour the honest
Kiran Bedi asked voters to understand the price of their votes and not waste it in the name of caste or religion.

Barabanki: Team Anna members on Thursday began their Uttar Pradesh tour with a fervent appeal to voters to understand the strength of their franchise and cast their ballots in favour of honest and responsible candidates.

Manoj Sisodiya and Kiran Bedi while talking to people at the Shakitdham Mahadev in Fatehpur area in Barabanki said leaders coming to them for seeking votes should be asked as to when the Lokpal bill would be passed.

Bedi asked voters to understand the price of their votes and not waste them on considerations of caste, religion, money and relationship.

She also asked the people to take a vow that they will not back candidates making false promises but support those who are answerable to them in future.

On various promises made in election manifestos of different parties, she said people should also see affidavits filed by their candidates and if they betray them later on they should be dragged to the court.

Sisodiya said leaders talking about temple and mosque do not talk about Jan Lokpal bill and asked people not to believe them.

He said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi speaks about changing the picture of the state in five years and is learning politics from Union minister Beni Prasad Verma. "How can people who make such promises be believed," he asked.
