New Delhi: The stage is set for a vote on FDI in retail in Parliament after a week into the Winter Session which has been marred by frequent disruptions and daily adjournments so far.

On Friday, the government plans to table amended rules of the Foreign Exchange Management Act in both houses. The amendments are crucial for the government to notify FDI in retail, a segment in which trade is currently restricted under the FEMA rules.

The Lok Sabha will debate and vote on FDI in retail on December 4 and 5 and the Rajya Sabha will take up the same on December 6 and 7. The UPA is confident of having the numbers in both the houses.
