Filmed in Spanish, the majority of the series was filmed in and around Colombia. Support from Marquez’s family also played a major role in the making of the series, according to the cast.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote One Hundred Years of Solitude in 1967. This work has managed to capture readers from all over the world. The novel, which goes through magical realism, has also received many accolades. This is also the novel that earned Marquez the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982.
