Kannada actor Darshan is currently in jail for his alleged involvement in the Renukaswamy murder case. In the months since his arrest, Darshan has amassed immense criticism and backlash from the public but, as a pivotal figure in South cinema, his fans never stopped supporting him. As per the latest reports, a fan of the actor donned an interesting costume in hopes of meeting his idol and voiced his support to the media.
The now-viral image shows the man dressed in a teddy bear costume and is captured standing outside the Bellary Jail, where Darshan is being held. He is seen holding a sign, which reads, “We are waiting for you.” As per reports, the man is identified as Karthik and is a resident of Sagar, Shivamogga. However, Karthik was not able to meet his idol, as no individual was allowed to meet the actor without the approval of his family. So, naturally, the staff refused to give the fan permission to further into the premises.
In an interaction with the media, Karthik stated that he does not think whatever Darshan may have done, is wrong. According to him, “We have been seeing atrocities on girls in the media daily, so Darshan has only punished the person who commits the atrocity.” Speaking further, he promised, “If I don’t get a chance to see our boss today, I will come back to see Darshan.”
According to reports, Darshan is experiencing severe back pain in prison, a condition he has been receiving treatment for, for the past 9 years. There were reports that if he did not undergo surgery for it, the condition could worsen and even endanger his life. The doctors of Manipal Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment, also suggested a future surgery, the reports added.
In June, the actor was arrested in connection with the murder of a fan named Renukaswamy who is claimed to have sent obscene messages to his rumoured partner, Pavithra Gowda.
