The festival of Navratri, regarded as one of the biggest festivals in Hinduism, is going to commence on October 3. For the next nine days, the devotees take part in extensive devotion and worship of Goddess Durga. Here are more details given by a renowned religious expert on the days.
The religious expert named Chandraprakash Dhandhan stated that according to the Devi Puranas, the Goddess will arrive on a palanquin when the festival commences on Thursday. So, when the Navratri ends on Saturday, the Goddess Durga is believed to bid farewell on her foot, added the expert. However, the Goddess’s arrival on the palanquin is not considered auspicious nor is her farewell on foot.
According to Chandraprakash Dhandhan, the Shardiya Navratri will begin on Pratipada Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. On October 3, the Pratipada Tithi time will start at 12:19 am and will end at 2:58 am on October 4. By October 12, the days will end, said Dhandhan. He added that during the period, reports of violence from other countries may arrive. Accidents may increase recession could affect the economy; a risk of the epidemic may be reported in the country as well as the world.
As given in the Panchang, the worship of various avatars of the Goddess will take place on these dates: Maa Shailputri on October 3, Maa Brahmacharini on October 4, Maa Chandraghanta on October 5, Maa Kushmanda on October 6, Maa Skandamata on October 7, Maa Katyayani on October 8, Maa Kalratri on October 9, Maa Siddhidatri on October 10, Maa Mahagauri on October 11 and Maa Durga on October 12. On the last day, October 12, the immersion of the idols of the Goddess Durga will be done and the Dashami Tithi or Dussehra will commence.
The auspicious time to install Kalash will be on October 3. Known as the Ghatasthapana Muhurat, the auspicious time will be from 6:24 am to 8:45 am. The Abhijit Muhurat will start at 11:52 am and end at 12:39 pm.
