NIZAMABAD: Despite protests by some Telangana activists, Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu's Rythu Porubata padayatra in the district received good response. Some villagers in Jakranpally threatened to boycott Naidu's programme protesting against his twoeye policy on Telangana. Notwithstanding this, a large number of farmers interacted with Naidu and explained their problems. The public meeting in Jakranpally too received good crowds, where Naidu declared he would wage a war against the central and state governments till they conceded the demands of farmers.Naidu said that TDP, if voted to power, would supply power to tillers for nine hours. He also assured 24hour uninterrupted power supply to all villages. Naidu demanded the state government to immediately release Rs 12 crore pending dues to maize farmers in the district. "If the Congress government fails to pay the dues, the TDP will include the same in its manifesto and pay dues with interest," Naidu assured maize farmers. He urged the government to drop the cases registered against maize farmers."TDP moved a notrust motion in the Assembly recently on farmers issues. Instead of giving packages to farmers, the state government lured MLAs with packages to save themselves," Naidu alleged. As turmeric farmers explained Naidu they were not getting support price, Naidu demanded Rs 15,000 per quintal of turmeric. He also suggested the government to set up a turmeric Board. Naidu undertook his padayatra from Govindapet to Jakranpally.TRS Activists Pelt Stones: Meanwhile, T activists obstructed Naidu's convoy at Itchoda crossroads when he left Adilabad. However, police caned the agitators. At Jakranpally, some TRS activists pelted stones towards the dais when Naidu started his speech. The police took the agitators away. Meanwhile speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, TDP senior leaders T Devender Goud and M Narasimhulu demanded TRS should stop collecting money and attacking other political parties in the name of Telangana."Chandrasekhar Rao has amassed huge wealth in the guise of T. A probe should be ordered into his assets," Narasimhulu demanded. The attitude of T people has changed. Now, a large number are turning to Naidu's meetings as he is touring districts on problems of people. The TRS never paid attention to their problems," Narasimhulu said.
