Individuals doing motorbike stunts is a common sight in our country. But there are some teens from Kerala who are doing these bike stunts by forming a group - Ghost Ryderz (Thiruvananthapuram), Bandit Bikers (Kozhikode), Stunting Hawx (Kannur) and many more.Ghost Ryderz is now the Number one motorcycle free stunt team in India while Stunting Hawx leads in Malabar. Stunting Hawx was formed nearly one-and-a-half years ago by the joint efforts of some youngsters in Kannur. The group consists of amateur riders as well as veteran stuntsmen. But in spite of their talent, Stunting Hawx had remained low profile. The members followed their passion even when they faced restrictions from parents. As the City Police considered stunting illegal, they had to practise in deserted grounds and less populated areas. As the days passed by the situation became worse, police marked their vehicles and they were considered no less than criminals. There were even times when the police chased them and even seized their vehicles. But they didn’t lose hope and started performing stunts all over Kerala.Their first performance was at the Payyanur Engineering College. After this first show which was a success their popularity spread like wildfire not just in Kerala but in other parts of South India as well. As a result they started receiving more offers, but they decided not to undertake any more shows until they practised more. And then came the turning point. Stunting Hawx was asked to perform in Mangad Engineering College as part of a mela. The police tried to prevent them, but the college helped a lot in convincing them. After this show Stunting Hawx got the license of performing stunts without causing trouble to the public. “At first the police thought we were using stolen vehicles and didn’t encourage any such stunts, but after the show that we did in Mangad Engineering College, they were with us. They helped us a lot whenever we needed them,” says Firaz, a member from Stunting Hawx.Hawx eventually got huge media coverage; several Malayalam television channels expressed interest to broadcast a programme on them. They finally got to do a programme with the Jai Hind TV. This made Stunting Hawx more popular among the public. They became the talk of the town.Today Stunting Hawx has earned top position in Malabar. They also have a large fan following all over Kerala. Their closest competition in Malabar is Bandit Bikers (Kozhikode). Stunting Hawx has only one aim - to be the number one stunting team in India, the position of which is now held by Thiruvananthapuram-based Ghost Ryderz.
