These guidelines must be implemented soon,” he said.An important recommendation is that calls from abroad should have a unique ID. All Caller ID masking should be removed for those calls being made outside India. But internet safety is an area in which the government can do only so much.An individual’s online safety measures will matter heavily in keeping him secure. “Every time a person enters an internet centre, he should ensure if a keylogger software has been loaded in the system. It is a software one can download in just two minutes. It will record every transaction that a person has made, including mouse clicks. This can later be used against the individual,” Sai explained.Likewise, one must never have a password that can be guessed easily, nor should he reveal his bank details to anyone by mail, or respond to spams, he said.
