Renovation works begin on Mysore Road flyover

BANGALORE: Renovation work began on BBMP’s first and oldest flyover—Sirsi flyover on Mysore Road—on Thursday. A release from BBMP said that flyover was constructed and opened to public in 1999-2000 by L and T Company.The expansion joints of the flyover was tore out, creating problems to commuters.This also lead to water leakage from the flyover.To renovate and repair, Palike called for tender four times but no company came forward.Finally for the fifth time, Nanfield India Limited has taken up the project.Mayor Sharadamma and Deputy Mayor Harish were present on Thursday when the work started.However, full fledged work will begin in October, release said
