Greater Noida: Suspended IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal on Tuesday found the backing of the Wakf Board, which claimed that the allegations against her are false. The Waqf Board has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, requesting him to reinstate Nagpal.
Waqf Board member Kadir Khan Jaiswal said that all the allegations against Nagpal are false and that she is innocent. "A person who is honest and then everyone is against him/her. How will the society fucntion?" Jaiswal asked on the Uttar Pradesh government's decision to suspend the officer.
Jaiswal also dismissed Uttar Pradesh government's claim that Durga's action would have instigated communal violence. "Whatever she has been alleged of, is wrong. The allegation that she has instigated communal violence is wrong. The whole blame that she has illegally demolished the wall is also not true. The politicians have plotted against her," said Jaisawal.
Nagpal was suspended as the SDM of Gautam Budh Nagar on July 27 ostensibly for ordering the demolition of the wall allegedly without following the due process.
