BANGALORE: Writer Baraguru Ramachandra called upon working community to protest against the unscientific policies of the State government. Speaking after inaugurating the State-level conference of the Karnataka School and College Computer Teachers’ Association on Sunday, Ramachandrappa said, “At one hand, the government is promoting IT education in a big way and on the other hand, nearly 10 crore children are not getting admissions into schools. Such a glitch in the educational system will create huge differences between children and this in turn leads to technological illiteracy,” he observed.He demanded the State government to regularise the services of IT teachers who are now on contract basis. “These teachers deserve a minimum salary of Rs 10,000 per month,” he said adding that the government should come out with a proper policy on IT education.S Prasanna Kumara, Principal Secretary of the association and Mahadevaiah Matapathi, President of the Government Employees Association were present.
