New Delhi: Get ready to pay more for using the DND Flyway (Delhi Noida Direct Flyway), which connects Delhi and Noida. The DND has sent a proposal to Noida Authority to increase toll tax. The company argues that to prevent it from slipping into red and the losses due to jams on DND, it is necessary to necessary toll tax.
A year ago the DND toll rate were increased and people had opposed it. As per the proposal the DND will hike the rate by 10 to 20 per cent, which will the second time in a year that the Flyway is increasing the rates. When the rates were increased almost a year ago, there were massive protests by the people.
If the proposals are accepted two wheelers users will be required to pay Rs 12 instead of the present rate of Rs 11. For the car users the new rates proposed is Rs 25 instead of Rs 22, for light vehicles it is Rs 55 instead of Rs 45 and heavy vehicles will pay Rs 70 instead of Rs 55
The DND also argues in the last few years the rate was not increased and the company was suffering a loss due to that. DND is awaiting the approval letter from the Noida Authority and will implement the new rates after it gets the go ahead. The Noida RWA Federation has announced that hike would not be allowed and they will protest against the proposal.
