Modernisation scheme for Lokayukta police

BANGALORE: Home Minister R Ashok on Tuesday met Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde and discussed about providing facilities to the the Lokayukta police personnel.
"The Lokayukta police are treated like a different wing and are denied facilities under the police modernisation scheme. We have requested the home minister to consider the Lokayukta police under the scheme," Justice Hegde said.When asked about whether the Lokayukta chief's visit was pertaining to the mining report, the minister said: "There was no political agenda behind themeeting."He said that they discussed about the facilities to be extended to theLokayukta police such as vehicles and equipment.
