BANGALORE:  A brawl over Rs 100 to buy mutton ended in the man opening fire at his elder brother and his wife. The incident took place in Hanumanthaiahanapalya in Magadi police station limits on the outskirts of the city.Shivanna, aged around 40 years, and his wife Bhagyamma, 38,  sustained injuries. The condition of Shivanna, who owns a petty shop, is said to be critical while his wife is out of danger. The couple is  admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases in the city. The police are on the look out for Shivanna’s brother Krishna, an auto driver and a resident of Dombarapalya, who is absconding.According to the police, Shivanna’s father had three wives and Krishna, is the  step-son.Recently, the duo had fought over bringing mutton and Shivanna reportedly had to give Rs 100 to Krishna. The brothers had quarrelled over the issue a few times and on Thursday evening, Krishna had quarelled with Shivanna at his shop.“Around 12.30 am on Friday, Krishna went to Shivanna’s house and abused him. When Shivanna and his wife came out to see what the matter was, Krishna shot at Shivanna through the grilled window with a single barrel muscle gun and fled the scene. The bullet passed through Shivanna’s chest and hit Bhagyamma.The duo were immediately shifted to a hospital,” the police explained.It is suspected that Krishna had brought the illegal gun from some poachers. Magadi police have registered a case.
