But what is more important is how we honour our legacies,” he said.  D Vinayachandran who delivered the keynote address said that Malayalam language had been able to retain the complexities, dreams and niceties of the language which most of the other languages were incapable of, these days. He said that focus should be given to teaching the children their mother tongue in their childhood itself.Parallel cultural organisations and libraries should take up this mission too, he said. C Radhakrishnan delivered the Language Day message.  Poet P Narayana Kurup presided over the function.
