Hutch-Essar Board Meet will be held to expand its network in India; the ongoing war between Ramadoss and Dr Venugopal, a governor body meeting will be held at AIIMS; new Goa speaker to be elected.

Hutch-Essar Board Meet:Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin will attend the first Board meeting of Hutch Essar Ltd, on Friday, after the UK-based Group acquired a 67 per cent stake in the company from Hutchison Telecom International.

Vodafone is expected to constitute a fresh Board to kick off the process of integration between Vodafone and Essar. Vodafone had earlier announced to pump in Rs 8,000 crore to expand its network in India, especially in the rural parts.

AIIMS Governing Body Meet: The AIIMS Governing Body will meet on Friday to seek a compliance report from Director P Venugopal on the board's earlier decisions. This will be the third governing body meeting this year.

The tug-of-war between Union Health Minister Ramadoss and Venugopal is expected to play out yet again. A group of doctors and students backing Director P Venugopal on Thursday demanded upgradation of facilities at the hospital.

Goa speaker to be elected A special one-day session will be convened in the Goa Assembly today on Friday to elect a speaker.

The former Goa Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane has been declared as the official candidate of Congress combined front for the post of the Speaker.

Rane filed three sets of nomination on Friday before the legislature secretary. Rane will take on the BJP candidate Laxmikant Parsekar.
