BANGALORE: Speakers from various fields paid rich tributes to former mayor Nadoja G Narayana, noted Gandhian, at Nudi Namana, organised by the Karnataka Janapada Parishat here on Sunday.“It is very difficult to find a leader like Narayana today. Leaders like him would have changed people’s negative perception of politicians,” opined former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy. Justice A J Sadashiva said that as a mayor and a patron of Kannada culture, Dr Narayana led by example. “As a Mayor, he helped citizens avail basic facilities. He brought water to Bangalore and built a life for the people,” he noted.“The government must institute something in his name as a tribute,” said former minister and JD(S) leader P G R Sindhia.Chairman of the State Third Finance Commission Report Implementation Committee A G Kodgi, said that the state government would pay tribute to Dr G Narayana.Union Minister and freedom fighter M V Rajashekharan said that a true tribute to Narayana would be possible only if citizens inculcate his principles in their life.
