PERUMBAVOOR: Assembly Speaker G Karthikeyan presented the K Harihara Iyer Memorial Award to Kathakali artiste Kalamandalam Gopi, at a function held at Perumbavoor Samooha madom here on Saturday. The award has been constituted to honour personalities who have made significant contributions in the fields of education, arts, culture and politics. The award instituted jointly by Perumbavoor unit of Kerala Brahmana Samooham and K Harihara Iyer Foundation consists of a cash prize of ` 10001, a citiation and a memento. Saju Paul MLA inaugurated the function organised as part of the 26th death anniversary of Harihahra Iyer. Kerala Brahmana Sabha district president V Krishna Swamy presided over the meeting. Kerala Brahmana Sabha (KBS) president V Ramalingam inaugurated K Harihara Iyer Foundation. UDF convenor P P Thanckachan delivered Harihara Iyer commemorative speech. KBS state committee member N Ranganthan presented the citation. KBS Perumbavoor president V Krishna Swamy, T S Hariharan, K P Babudas, K M A Salam, H Ramanathan, K A Bhaskeran, T P Hassan, N C Mohanan, Kalamandalam Sumathi and N Harihara Subrahmanya Iyer offered felicitation.
