In this article, we are talking about the village named Thirumala village of Indalwai mandal, Nizamabad district. There is a banyan tree just in front of a temple named Ellamma Temple, holding a history of more than 100 years. Every year a special function is held in the temple and this tree serves as a shade to all the visitors who visit the temple for the function. The temple also holds a significant history.
In an interview with Local 18, a villager mentioned that the tree in front of the temple is a great support in this scorching heat. People take shelter underneath this tree. He added that a person named Gangaram Goud built the temple beside the 100-year-old tree. Narsa Goud said, “This tree has been here since before I was born. Our elders used to say that this tree has been there for hundreds of years.” He added that Gangaram Goud built more than five temples around the village.
Former MPTC Chiluka Kishan mentioned that the roods from this tree have spread out to grow another large tree beside it. He mentioned that the tree has a long history. The villagers reportedly take care of the tree to preserve it for more years to come. He added that every Tuesday and Sunday large festival is held at the temple area and the tree provides shelter to everyone who takes part in the festival.
