HC notice on plea on medical colleges

HYDERABAD: A division bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising the Chief Justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru and Justice Vilas Afzalpurkar on Tuesday ordered notice in a writ petition questioning the decision of the state government that any person desiring to start a medical college must have run a hospital for 5 years.NOVA Education Society had questioned the order issued in April on the grounds that such a prescription was not laid down either by the Medical Council of India or under the relevant act.  The petitioner maintained that such a prescription was illegal and without the authority of law.
