New Delhi: A ninth standard girl student of a government school was allegedly raped by three persons, including two employees of the school, inside the school premises in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu.
Police arrested the school peon and gave out arrest warrants for two - a school clerk and his friend, an autorickshaw driver.
The incident took place on Monday evening in the premises of the higher secondary school and the girl brought it to the notice of the school headmaster on Wednesday.
The girl told the police, peon Gunasekaran went up to her after school hours on Monday and called her outside saying that the clerk, Sivakumar, had to discuss her fees. The girl had not paid the annual fees.
When the girl went to the school around 6 pm, Sivakumar, his friend and Gunasekaran allegedly raped her. The girl reported the matter to the Headmaster and submitted a written complaint. The Headmaster forwarded the complaint to the police.
The students of the school blocked the road in front of the school demanding the arrest of the three persons. Police rushed to the spot and held enquiries following which Gunasekaran was arrested, police said.
Police have taken steps for a medical examination of the girl at the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital.
