George Eden remembered

KOCHI: Former MP George Eden was commemorated on his eighth death anniversary at a function organised by the District Congress Committee at the Town Hall on Tuesday.Inaugurating the function, Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan recalled the days he spent with Eden. “He was always hand in hand with the people and worked with them at the grassroot level,” Thiruvanchoor said.Those who spoke at the meeting highlighted the development of the city, a vision that was shared by George Eden. Veteran journalist K M Roy and Advocate Jayashankar also spoke on the occasion. “We all need to have a new vision for development.  With the development of Smart City and the Vallarpadom Terminal, the development of roads has to be seriously considered,” said K M Roy. Advocate Jayashankar said that administrators should deal the issues of development, especially the BOT issue. MLAs Benny Behanan, Dominic Presentation and  Hibi Eden, Mayor Tony Chammani, DCC president V J Paulose, A C Jose and M A Kuttappan were also present.
