Raipur: After Gandhigiri, or the Gandhian way of non-violent protest popularised by blockbuster Lage Raho Munnabhai, actress Hema Malini says women should embrace Basantigiri to talk their way out of stiff situations.
"Like Basanti, keep on talking to people to get your work done and that is the policy the women should adopt," actress Hema Malini, who played Basanti in blockbuster Sholay, said.
"If you are a woman and into difficult situations then use Basantigiri to get your work done," the BJP Rajya Sabha MP said. Replying to a question about her opinion on Gandhigiri she said it is the time now for Basantigiri.
She also defended her husband and Lok Sabha MP Dharmendra saying he had been doing a good job. "Dharmendra was a great artist and some times he was fielded with difficult questions about his performance as a Parliament member," Hema Malini said.
Again politicians had the advantage of having brought up in a political atmosphere where as the artists, like her, were new to the field of politics and they should be given time to understand the situation and then they should be asked for their performance, she said.
