THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the wildlife week celebrations which begins on October 2, the Forest Department is organising various competitions. For the category of wildlife photography, the applicants must send 30x20 cm size photograph shot in forest areas.There is no entry fee and applicants can send more than one entries. First, second and third prize winners will get Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,000 and a certificate respectively.The application must carry the name of the camera used, location of the photograph, negative/ CD, date and time. In the poster writing category, the applicants must make posters A3 size paper. The first and second prize winners will get Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively. The address of the applicant, along with name and phone number, must be send before September 30 to the Director, Forestry Information Bureau, Forest Headquarters, Vazhutacaud, Thiruvananthapuram 1.The Forest Department is also organising competitions for students.Lower and upper primary students can participate in pencil drawing and water colour painting while high school students can participate in quiz, essay writing, elocution, pencil drawing and water colour painting.
