Father Puthuva recites Ramayana

TRIPUNITHURA:  The audience listened with rapt attention as ‘Laksmanopadesham’ from  ‘Adhyathma Ramayanam’ was being recited. The venue, St Francis U P School, Amballoor. The narrator, Fr John Puthuva!The school under Christian management is celebrating ‘Ramayana’ month. And the recitation has been taken up by none other than Fr Puthuva. The audience is a mix of children, teachers and non-teachers from different religious beliefs. “As Kerala is deeply involved in the discourse and rendering of Ramayana during ‘Karkkitakam’, we too decided to observe the holy ritual in our school, Fr John Puthuva said. We have to break the narrow-minded religious barriers existing in our society, by learning good things from childhood. So, I have selected the students of this UP school to begin with such a unique experiment,” Fr Puthuva said. The recital is for a week and afterwards the schools will hold a quiz competition based on the recital.  The school authorities are also planning to render the Holy Quran, as it is Ramzan. This will be followed by a Bible month observation in September.
