New Delhi: The Delhi Crime Branch has made the fifth arrest in another arrest in the fake nursery admissions case. The accused was involved in 10 fudged admissions.
Delhi Police had first busted the racket earlier in 2015 when 30 fake admissions were deducted. The accused have been charged with masquerading children from well to do families as economically weaker sections to gain admissions in the EWS quota for a hefty price
Fake proofs of residence and certificates of income, forged voter IDs and other documents were submitted to claim seats reserved for students from the EWS quota.
As per the rules, private schools are required to reserve 25% of the total seats for the economically weaker sections. Several reputed schools in Delhi have been named in the racket and FIR's have been registered by police across the national capital.
The involvement of school authorities to the highest level and lower staff at district magistrate offices is also under scrutiny. The gang repotedly charged between Rs 3-10 lakhs for each admission. The accused repotedly forged the documents and signatures.
Four people Anil Kumar, Sudama Singh, Dharam Singh and the module's kingpin Mukesh Sharma have already been arrested from different hideouts in the city. Police said Kumar used to connect prospective clients to Sharma, while Sudama and Dharam Singh used to play a role in arranging and preparing the forged documents.
The police started investigating the case after information was received a few months ago of involvement of some people in securing admissions in prominent schools on the basis of fake EWS certificates. The information was further developed by obtaining data of such admissions from schools.
