Charges levied by airlines on cancellation of tickets under DGCA scanner
All the airlines have submitted a list of the charges levied on cancellation and rescheduling of tickets to aviation regulator DGCA.

Just days after resolving the issue of airlines charging for check-in baggage, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is now scrutinising the charges levied by airlines for cancellation and rescheduling of tickets.

According to a report in The Times of India, all the airlines have submitted a list of the charges levied on cancellation and rescheduling of tickets to the aviation regulator.

The DGCA is examining whether the cancellation charges are too high and should be rolled back.

This comes just days after the DGCA did not allow the airlines to charge domestic flyers for check-in baggage weighing up to 15 kg. An earlier DGCA ruling had put check-in baggage under unbundled items category, effectively allowing airlines to charge extra for it.
