Gordon Liu makes his Bollywood debut with Chandni Chowk to China.

Mumbai: You might have already seen him training Uma Thurman Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. Now catch martial arts expert and veteran actor Gordon Liu make his Bollywood debut with Chandni Chowk to China.

With over 80 films behind him, Liu wasn't confident about leading man Akshay Kumar's ability to pull off the martial arts stunts when he signed on for the film.

"First of all, I don't know Akshay. Who is Akshay? But the director said he is very popular in India. He has done some action films before and some dancing too. I have more experience than Akshay. But because he can dance he's better. Action and dancing are much the same. So when I did fight scenes with Akshay, I thought if he can keep the tempo and I can keep my tempo, it's perfect," said Liu.

The 53-year-old shot to international fame for his diverse roles in Tarantino's Kill Bill volumes one and two. Four years later in Chandni Chowk to China, Liu plays "Hojo" the villain with a killer hat in hand. The actor shot for the film for three months in Thailand and China and says it has been a learning experience on India.

"I learnt so many things in the the film about Indian culture. One movie, no matter if its action or drama, they have singing and dancing. So I was surprised. You see Hollywood movies like Rambo and Rocky. They don't have singing and dancing. Why? Then I got it. To make all the people happy, not only fight, but singing and dancing," says he.
