NAGERCOIL: Stray incidents of stone pelting at buses from both Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and commercial firms run by Keralites, were reported in and around the district on Tuesday. Around 10 pm on Monday, a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus from Thiruvanathapuram was on its way to Kanyakumari, when near Eathancadu on the Nagercoil-Kanyakumari Highway, some people hurled stones at the bus and fled. Based on a complaint from the bus driver, the police registered a case. On Tuesday, Naam Tamizhar Katchi members pelted stones at an outlet of Muthoot bank at Kulasekaram. Union organiser Ajith Kumar was arrested. Meanwhile, TNSTC officials claimed that three of its buses plying on Nagercoil-Thiruvananthapuram route were damaged in stone pelting incidents in Kerala.
