BANGALORE: Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University Dr N Prabhu Dev has constituted a committee of deans to decide equivalence of subjects for old students of annual and semester schemes to complete degree courses.Based on the recommendations of the committee, the university will give another two chances, in two consecutive examinations, in November and April 2012, as a one-time measure to all the failed students who have completed the course in order to complete degrees (both UG and PG courses) in both annual and semester schemes of graduation.The university has decided to allow annual scheme students, including distance education students who have completed the courses but have not passed the degree may be permitted to take the examinations under the present scheme.If subjects are not available in the present schemes of study, the candidates will be suggested to pass the equivalent or near similar subjects under the existing pattern with the approval of respective chairpersons of the Board of Studies.The students under the annual schemes will be permitted to select a similar existing subject, in equivalent degrees under the Directorate of Correspondence and Continuing Course, Bangalore University, if available or a similar paper be suggested under the present semester scheme.Semester scheme students who have completed the course but have not passed the degree may be permitted to take the odd and even semester examination under the existing and present schemes and syllabus for two attempts in each odd and even semesters.The principals of the affiliated colleges are requested to permit such candidates who have completed more than 6 years in UG Degree and 4 years in PG Degree Course and have failed in certain subjects, to appear for the examination during November 2011/April 2012 as one time measure.The principals of colleges are also requested to send a letter giving details of the students who have been permitted to appear for examination along with the copies of their marks cards to the Registrar and to the Registrar (Evaluation).No further extension of time will be given after the prescribed time limit.
