HYDERABAD: With the Left parties distancing themselves from the TDP in recent elections, party leaders are advising TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu to move closer to the BJP at the national level in order to defeat the Congress. In an informal chat with reporters on Friday, senior party leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao disclosed that he has advised Naidu to sail with the BJP.The TDP was in alliance with the BJP during 1999-2004 but defeat in the 2004 election resulted in the break-up of ties between the two parties.However, Veerabhadra Rao indicated that conditions have changed. His reason for a TDP-BJP renunion is the fact that the division in opposition votes is helping the Congress. However, he said this was only his personal view. "I expressed my views to Naidu recently. He neither endorsed it nor shot it down," he said.In his recent pronouncement, Naidu has indicated that there has been no change in the TDP's thinking vis a vis the BJP.
