Army flag march continues at Deganga, WB
Two columns of army were deployed in the area after paramilitary forces failed to control violence following the killing of a man on Tuesday.

Kolkata: Army continued with its flag marches for the third day on Thursday while prohibitory orders were relaxed at violence-hit Deganga in North 24-Parganas district.

"Army is still at Deganga where they staged flag marches, but the situation is under control and no fresh incident of violence was reported," District Magistrate Vinod Kumar said.

Eastern Frontier Rifles (EFR) personnel and state armed policemen were also deployed at Deganga.

Two columns of army were deployed there after paramilitary forces failed to control violence following the killing of a man on Tuesday.

West Bengal Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta visited the area on Wednesday night and asked police to apprehend troublemakers.

One person was killed and 25 others, including a DSP and seven policemen, injured in the violence after several places of worship were desecrated following clashes between two groups.
