BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Cooperative Apex Bank has announced its plans to establish a training institute with an investment of Rs 20 crore.Speaking to media persons here on Monday, the bank CEO Ashwathnarayana Gowda said the proposed institute would be established near Yashwanthpur. “It will be on par with Bankers’ Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Lucknow. We have three acres of land for this purpose. The construction work is expected to begin shortly. The premises will have a guest house, conference hall apart from the training centre,” Gowda said. He said the bank has decided to construct buildings at its sites at RPC Layout, JP Nagar, Kengeri Satellite Town, Koramangala, Agara and NGEF West Layout with an investment of Rs 12 crore.The bank has also announced its plans to open ATMs at its branches in Chamarajpet, Vidhana Soudha, Legislators’ Home, MS Building and Basaveshwaranagar.
