Navsari (Gujarat): Rail traffic has resumed on Surat-Navsari route after it was disrupted due to violent protests by an angry mob.
The mob was protesting the conversion of some Intercity Express trains into Superfast ones.
In all, 22 trains of the Western Railway have been converted into superfast trains.
These trains will no longer halt at various smaller stations including Navsari. The mob burnt some waiting room furniture at the Navsari station.
Earlier protestors also pelted stones at the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express.
