Mumbai: Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who cancelled his Delhi trip on Sunday to promote Drona after Saturday's blast in the Capital, says it was a precautionary measure and his presence would have lead to more pressure on security personnel.
"I'd like to express my solidarity with the people of Delhi. We must continue to stand up against acts of terrorism. We were scheduled to go to Delhi to celebrate the launch of Drona merchandise in the Spice Mall and Big Bazaar,” he said.
"But my being in Delhi and interacting with huge crowds would create an additional pressure on the security arrangements and the administration. So I have cancelled our promotional events in Delhi on Sunday," Abhishek added.
The actor felt that any promotional activity in the city would have seemed “insensitive towards the families of the victims.”
Drona, a sci-fi mythological film, also stars Priyanka Chopra and Kay Kay Menon and is set for Friday release.
